General Says Bush Committed “War Crimes”

June 19th, 2008 · 1 Comment

“There is no longer any doubt as to whether the current administration has committed war crimes. The only question that remains to be answered is whether those who ordered the use of torture will be held to account.”- Army Major General Antonio Taguba, ABC News, June 19th

The issue of torture has been framed by Bush as “if I know there’s going to be an attack I’ll do anything I must to stop it.” Then we can get into a nice philosophical discussion over whether a thousand lives is worth the torture of one individual and all the other claptrap which has nothing to do with the truth, which is we’ve been torturing people who were at the wrong place and the wrong time when the Northern Alliance warlords wanted their $10,000 bounty per “terrorist.”

On the day of this stunning accusation by an Army Two-Star, here is also a repost from The Washington Monthly, The Innocent at Guantanamo.

To round off our torture-fest we repost this reprint of Adbuster Magazine’s short piece. Does anybody out there not hate us yet?
